Our commitment to Social & Environmental Impact
Corporate social responsibility is central to Sherlock Communications’ philosophy. From the outset, we’ve devoted significant time and resources to helping NGOs and social causes from our communities gain visibility and long-term support. As a certified carbon-neutral agency and signatory to the UN Global Compact, we strive to ensure our work benefits not only our clients but also the wider communities and environments where we operate.
Ever since our early pro bono work for NGOs, we saw a recurring challenge: many smaller, locally led organisations were doing extraordinary things but struggling to gain the wider visibility and support they needed. We also knew from experience that in many funding contexts, it was easier to secure $100,000 than $500. That imbalance inspired us to support the smaller, community-rooted initiatives and NGOs that often get overlooked.

Designed as a trilingual news website to shine a spotlight on grassroots NGOs and social projects, Lupa do Bem helps them share their stories, strengthen their structures and connect with donors and volunteers, particularly from the corporate world. Through media partnerships with mainstream outlets such as Catraca Livre and Red/Acción we have made NGO stories visible to millions of readers across the region
Since its launch, Lupa do Bem has mapped and profiled more than 450 NGOs, generated over R$1.2 million in donations to 187 small organisations across Latin America and directly benefited more than 45,000 people. We have also helped build corporate partnerships, including R$450,000 in funding for grassroots projects, while publishing practical e-books and training over 100 community leaders to strengthen long-term NGO sustainability. What makes Lupa do Bem unique is that we treat NGOs as partners, not projects. We listen to their needs and provide consultancy, communications support, training and resources tailored to what they actually need.
That insight led us to create Lupa do Bem – “The Magnifying Glass of Good” – our flagship CSR initiative
Building on this impact, we developed and launched a first-of-its-kind blockchain-based platform enabling transparent, fee-free donations directly between donors and NGOs, cutting out intermediaries that often take up to 30% of funds. Thanks to our client work, Sherlock Communications had both the in-house Web3 expertise and the direct connections to the global and regional blockchain ecosystem to make this possible. That combination allowed us to design and launch a community-centered platform few others could have built.
Much like our broader mission at Sherlock Communications, Lupa do Bem serves as a bridge: linking global brands with local communities to foster authentic partnerships and create lasting, positive change.

Corporate Transparency
Transparency is one of our core values and underpins everything we do. It guides our decisions, builds trust and ensures accountability across all aspects of our work. Our approach to CSR is grounded in respect and inclusion; not only in how we collaborate with clients, but also in how we engage with local communities, historically excluded groups and the environment.
The publication of our first annual CSR Progress Report in 2023 marked an important milestone in strengthening this commitment. It allowed us to reflect on our past initiatives, set measurable goals for the future, and reinforce our dedication to openness and responsibility in every area of our business.
What we stand for
As signatories of the UN Global Compact in both Brazil and the UK, we align our annual carbon emissions with the GHG Protocol and offset them through Compensa.Eco.
